Happy Easter from Stunt Zombie!

The past four months have been rather eventful, and I'm glad to say things are starting to slow down a bit. After much aggravation,  I am now half owner of a home. Frankly, it scares the hell out of me, but I think just because I buy a toy on occasion doesn't mean I'm not a big boy now. I will say, I do not recommend using Wells Fargo for anything. I wouldn't even go there to cash a check after the crap they put us through.

The wedding seems to be coming together rather smoothly, a little too smoothly if you ask me. It's almost tempting to push up the date to this year, but I'm not the type of person to spit in Fate's eye then run away.

I had something special planned for the Easter holiday, but work and life in general pushed it back. Hopefully I can pull it off sometime this week. I hope so, since I think it will be a lot of fun.

Speaking of this week, my next post goes up on Doomkick this coming Wednesday. This one actually required me to go back in time 30 years, so I'd greatly appreciate it if you go and check it out. That time traveling ain't easy.

Bob is still around, though he's been taking it easy lately. I could never replace my favorite zombie, though I think a makeover might just be in his future.

I decided to finally join the modern world and get a smartphone. I've spoken against them for years now, mainly due to their ridiculously high plan costs, but I found a deal I just couldn't resist. Besides, this means I'll also be upgrading from my very worn out. I'll finally have the means to post photos on my rather barren Instagram feed, as well as have a platform where I can more easily use Twitter. Yey.

So that's what's been going on in the lair of the Stunt Zombie. Stay tuned for a couple more posts this coming week. Until then, Happy Easter everyone!

Stop! Thief!

This is one of the first photos I took when I started this blog. I could never think of a good caption for it though, so it languished in my photo album, unseen and unloved. At least I hope it did. I'll feel like a right jackass if I've already posted this one at some point.

I've created an awful, awesome thing. The Stunt Zombie has risen!

I was browsing around, checking out all the different Lego minifigures, when I came across this little fella.

Howdy! Ya'll have any ramps that need to be jumped?
Everyone refers to him as The Daredevil, but I know a stunt guy when I see one. Stunt guy. why does that sound familiar..Then it hit me. I searched around on E-bay and Amazon for a certain minifigure. Unfortunately, I'm not about to pay nearly $30 for one Lego figure, rare or not. Finally, I came across a set that had the guy I needed. It was actually quite a bit less than buying the minifig separately. I had some leftover Amazon money, so I placed my order. It's the Monster Fighter's Vampyre Car, in case you were wondering, and I'll focus on that at another time. Right now I want to bring your attention to the one figure I've been trying to obtain.

The zombie chauffeur from the Vampyre's car. See where this is going yet? Okay, let me help you out.

First, a quick disassembly, followed by a quick reattachment..

Holy crackers, I've created a Stunt Zombie! It doesn't look like The Daredevil is too happy about the change up, but I'm afraid it's too late for that now. At least he'll still get to drive a sweet ride.

You're only good for one thing now, and that's getting kicked!

Of course, it appears that SZ isn't the friendliest zombie, at least not compared to Bob. Oh..Bob..I forgot all about him..

Where's this Bob fellow? I want to kick him.
Hopefully he's an understanding zombie, otherwise this could get a bit awkward.

Oh. You're Bob? Pssh, you're not so big.
This probably won't end well.

Fun Food Friday- The Dark Side of Candy

"Who dares mock the Dark Lord of the Sith? You shall pay for your insolence!"

"You were certainly no match for a Jedi of my power! The Emperor will be most pleas...wait a second. What is that inside your armor?"

"Intriguing, candy that is tiny, yet sour enough to pucker the lips of even the strongest Jedi. Perhaps it is a trap set by Rebel spies. I shall report to the Emperor immediately!"

"Holy cannoli! Look at the size of that helmet. There's gotta be a ton of brains in there!"

"Man, no wonder the rebels always beat you. This thing is completely empty!"

Fun in the snow.

Stand still for one more second...

I really can't leave these two alone. They're always getting into trouble. I cleaned the two of them off and fixed them a cup of hot chocolate so they could warm back up.

Uh-oh..this looks like trouble..

Bob, I don't think I would trust him after what you did.

I'm not going to say I told you so, but...Okay Stormtrooper, pull him out. The fun's over.

"I'm so sticky."   "Yes, but you smell delicious."
It looks like I'm going to have to clean these two up yet again. Stay warm out there folks.

What about Bob?

In all the excitement, I completely forgot to ask my favorite zombie, Bob, got for Christmas. So, what did you ask Santa Maul for this year?

Come on now, there's no need to be shy. We just want to see what you got..

Hmm..something definitely looks different. Did you get a haircut?

Just kidding of course. It's definitely an improvement, but I have to wonder where Santa Maul found an extra head just laying around. All I can say is, enjoy it while you can..

He's Santa Maul, he has his ways. Besides, it's not like he stole it or anything.

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 24

This is it, the final day of our advent calendar adventure. It's been quite the journey, and one that I'm in no hurry to repeat. I can definitely use a good 48 hours between posts, if only to get my thoughts together. But, enough of my whining, let's see what we got today.

Well, this one was pretty much spoiled by the box this year. Here we have Darth Maul as Santa Claus, or Santa Maul. Or Darth Claus..whichever you prefer. He comes with a shovel, and what I'm guessing is supposed to be a snowball. I guess it makes sense, since he seems to be building the astromech snowman on the box. I must admit, I'm rather perplexed by Lego's decision to turn the maniacal Darth Maul into an herald of Christmas cheer, but maybe that whole death thing gave him a new outlook on life. I'm just curious what effect he will have on all the other minifigs from the set..

Well would you look at that. For the first time in weeks, everyone seems to be getting along. I guess they heard good boys and girls get presents at Christmas, while bad ones end up with a stocking full of Bantha dung. Even Bob looks anxious to speak to Santa Maul.

What could he be asking for?  I guess we'll find out tomorrow..Until then, Merry Christmas everyone!

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 2

Blog posts two days in a row? That's right, I'm going to try to keep this going for the entirety of the advent calendar. So that will be 24 straight posts at the least. I'll be mixing it up with other stuff, so it won't be all LEGO all the time though. I have a bad feeling about today's box though. Yesterday we had the Gungan sub, and if this one follows the same theme as the previous calendars, that means something bad is hiding behind that flap. Let's see if I'm right.

Arrgh! Why do I always have to be right about the negative stuff? Why can't I pick some numbers, and be able to say, "These will win the lottery". Obviously, we have a Gungan pilot for our sub. I understand that the new Star Wars trilogy was made for the younger generation, but the Gungan make the Ewoks look like furry little Shakespeares. I think the movie industry needs to learn that you can cater to kids without having to resort to slapstick or mentally handicapped characters. Sorry, let me get back on track..

There's the horrible little creature, fully assembled. There's nothing indicating that this is Jar Jar Binks, so that's a plus. It still doesn't excuse its terrifyingly huge head. I understand that the minifigure scale has some limitations when it comes to detail and sculpt, but they really have to make the head so huge? This is approaching bobble-head territory, and I frakkin hate bobble-heads.

He's all yours Bob.
I still can't get over the size of his head. I just realized it is the same scale as the head on a 3 3/4" figure, maybe even a bit bigger. Basically, it's three times larger than it needs to be, and that's just plain wrong.

Bob learns to his dismay that  there is no relation between head size and brain size.
Going by the box, this looks like it may be the bottom of the barrel. The good news is that it can only get better from here. See you tomorrow!

Lego Star Wars Advent Calendar Day 1

It's become a yearly tradition for my girlfriend to get me a Lego Advent Calendar for my birthday. I love it, but it also means I have to wait over a month before I can actually start opening it. It pays off in the end though, since I'm getting a new Lego kit every day until Christmas.

24 little boxes, all with a neat little surprise inside. Let's see what's behind door number 1 shall we?

Hmm..I have absolutely no idea what that is supposed to be. It looks like this set will be focusing on the prequels, so I'll have to look some of these models up. Maybe it will make more sense once it's all together.

Nope, still no clue. Looks like I'll be going to the internet on this one.

At least Bob's happy with it.

*EDIT* Well that was fast. It seems that it is a Gungan Sub.

Bob vs. Kirby

Bob the Zombie decided to push his luck with Kirby the Monster...

Bob figured he would win, since he's the biggest, baddest zombie in the house. Unfortunately for him, Kirby's the biggest monster in the house..

After some quick mediation and a bunch of dog treats, Kirby decided  he didn't like the taste of zombie and let Bob go. Luckily, Airtight was nice enough to volunteer and give Bob a good cleaning after his encounter.

Real smart, dog breath

And so ends another day in the Stunt Zombie household.

Book Club Halloween Party

Last night, my girlfriend Chelsea had her first annual Book Club Halloween party. The club itself, (Books, Booze, and Bitches), was started several months ago, and allowed all the ladies to get together and drink wine and discuss that month's book. I'm suspicious that there may have been more enjoying of wine than book discussion though. Anyhow, she loves to entertain, so this month's meeting turned into a Halloween get together.
The hostess with the mostest
As usual, there was a variety of snack foods, all too rich and delicious.

Black cat brownies. Those are York peppermint patties on top and inside the brownies. One of those, and my sweet tooth is gone for the rest of the month. Seriously, they have a richness that borders on ridiculous.

Here we have cupcakes with sprinkles, and minature brownie cupcakes dressed up like pumpkins. Ain't she crafty?

I apologize for the blurry photo, but I think I can blame it on the evil brew that lurks within the large glass container. By this time, I had tried a couple cups of the stuff, and was falling under it's awful spell. I think making a good punch is actually an art form. You want something delicious and easy to drink, but it also needs to have an air of danger as well. It shouldn't have so much alcohol in it to burn your throat with every glass, but there should be enough to let people know, "Hey, take it easy or you'll wake up with regrets in the morning". Also, it never hurts to have a large frozen brain floating in the middle of it.

Pizza snakes! If I had my way, this would be the only form of pizza I would eat. The one on top was an italian sausage snake, while the one on the bottom was regular cheese, and they were both delicious. The only problem is that they usually go way too fast, so you have to be quick to grab a piece or two before it disappears.

Mixed candy bowl! Okay, so Chelsea didn't actually make the candy, but damn that is a cauldron full of sweet death.  We have Candy Corn M&M's, Mellowcreme Pumpkins, and Brach's Candy Corn and Caramel Apple Candy Corn. There was still a lot of this left, so I guess that mean's I'll have to man up and start scarfing it down.

Of course there were decorations, though I only took pictures of what I considered the best.

I love these scary portraits, because nothing looks off about them unless you get up real close. They just look like some old timey family photos, then you walk to the left to grab some chips and, BAM! You're staring at the decaying corpse of creepy Uncle Albert.

Nothing like a cobweb and skull centerpiece to really bring a table together.

You can't really see much in the way of decorations in these two photos, but I think the lighting made our den look extra creepy.

Unfortunately for some, this was an invitation only event. We don't let just any ghouls in here. Go find your own party fellas.

This mummy has been hung up here for the past few Halloweens, and I still can't figure out if he's supposed to be scary, or scared. I'm shooting for the latter, personally.

Here's a group shot of some of the book club members. From left to right, there's Hunter Kari and Hunting "Accident" Kara, Witchy Chelsea, and Zombie Shannon.  Don't they look like a fun group?

It was a fun night, even if it is signalling the end of the Halloween season. Four more days and we'll be looking forward to turkeys and stuffing, Christmas trees, and even more turkey. Until next time, Trick or Treat!

NOOO! All the food is gone!
