More Glyos goodness

This is another figure I picked up from Onell Design a couple of months ago, Glyan Operator Cane.

I honestly don't have much to say about Cane, other than I love his look and durability. He's made up of 25 different parts, but I still think it would be safe to carry this one around in a pocket. Like several of Glyos' other figures, this one has alternate heads and faces. You can also combine him with any other toy that uses the Glyos system, though I prefer to keep as is right now. I might have to add a couple swing joint sets to him though, if they ever make them in black again.

This face is on the opposite side of the head from the above picture, and I have to name it my second favorite. It definitely has a more sinister look to it. As far as my favorite look for this guy, it would have to be this one...

I think the reason I like this one so much, is the resemblance to the older Transformer toys. He's this alien creature, yet there are signs that there may be some "humanity" in him. That's more than can be said for some of the other Glyans, none of which look particularly friendly.

I may have mentioned it before, but my main complaint with the Glyos line, is that it's hard to piece together the backstory. The story is told through several comics and mini-games on Onell's website, but they don't seem to cover everything. If there's a line that definitely needed it's own wikia to describe its characters, it's this one. Still, the lack of story means you're free to come up with your own history for them. I guess it's hard to complain about a toy that makes you use your imagination when you're playing with them.

If you're interested in learning more about Glyos, the best place to start is Onell Design's website. They actually have a product drop coming up at 9:30 PM Eastern time, so go check out the store and see what goodies they're adding to the current line up.

  1. That last one pictured reminds me of Robocop.

    1. It's funny you should mention that John. I was just messing around with him, and was thinking the exact same thing. Then I go to Buzz Chuck's blog and find he did a post on the Kenner Robocop figure this morning. It just seems like a weird coincidence...
